Liverpool have made a move for Sporting CP whizkid Nuno Mendes.
Record says both the Reds and Arsenal have contacted Sporting Lisbon with the Portuguese giants desperate to tie the teenager down to a new contract complete with a £40m release clause.
Sporting Lisbon president Frederico Varandas says of their prospect: “Nuno Mendes is dazzling.
“Just let the years go by and they will get there.
“I have no doubt that Nuno Mendes will be the future left-back of the (Portuguese) National Team. We have players of unbelievable talent (in the academy)."
