163 inspected in LD Op: Marine Police

LAHAD DATU: The Marine Police here inspected some 163 individuals on 72 boats or vessels during the implementation of Op Benteng Covid since October 10 to Friday.

Lahad Datu Marine Commanding Officer, Superintendent Gan Ping Sin, during a patrol to Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO) areas on Friday said the searched vessels comprised speed boats, pump boats, trawlers and others and were ordered to return to their respective districts.

Gan said following the implementation of Op Covid Benteng in conjunction with the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) and EMCO, the Marine Police is in charge of monitoring the movements in the district waters as well as ensuring all rules and instructions were complied by the maritime community.
