Mundo Deportivo says Barca see Malen as an alternative January transfer target to Lyon ace Memphis Depay.
Barca coach Ronald Koeman has confirmed Depay remains a target and he is sure to be behind interest in fellow Dutchman Malen.
Malen, 21, is also on Real Madrid's radar, though the presence of former Oranje coach Koeman is expected to sway matters in Barca's favour should it become a straight choice.
The striker has a deal with PSV to 2024.
