RB Leipzig chief Markus Krosche has explained allowing Ademola Lookman to leave for Fulham.
The Cottagers have taken the England U21 winger on a season-long loan - with no option to buy.
"We are convinced of the boy, so we definitely did not want to commit ourselves to a permanent scenario for a fee," explained Krosche.
"A second year with little match practice would not have been beneficial.
"At Fulham he will most likely play a lot of games."
