Total lockdown on a Tawau Felda; CMCO on all of Sabah

Kota Kinabalu: Another area, Felda Umas in Tawau, will be placed under total lockdown from this midnight until Oct 26, said Defence Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaacob.

The order affects 800 homes and 17,549 people who must remain home with all sectors of the economy in the area stopped, said Sabri in his daily update today.

Meanwhile, all of Sabah will be placed under the Conditional Movement Control Order from this midnight until Oct 26 also while Selangor, Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya from 12.01am on Oct 14, said the minister.

The announcement effectively places all yellow and green zones in Sabah under the order, like red zones currently under it.

The business and manufacturing sector including SMEs which wish to keep operating can contact the Sabah Disaster Management Committee, said Sabri.

There are now eight areas in Sabah under total lockdown -- one in Tawau, six in Semporna and one in Kunak.
