Kota Kinabalu: A man and a woman were charged with repeatedly taking syabu, respectively.Mohd Kahar Hamdan, and Nurzalina Gazali, both 28, were brought before Sessions Court Judge Noor Hafizah Mohd Salim to the charge against them on Friday. However, no plea was taken from them pending the chemist’s report on the drug as well as their convictions records.

The duo is accused to taking the drug at 10am on Oct 11 this year at the city area. Both of them allegedly had two previous convictions for taking drug. The offence under Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act read with Section 39C(1) of the same Act, which provides for a jail term of between five years and seven years and whipping of not more than three strokes.

The court set Nov 17 for mention their cases and no bail was offered to them pending the date. Earlier, Deputy Public Prosecutor Mas Izzaty Lokman informed the court that the pathology reports and their conviction record from Bukit Aman is not ready yet. The duo were not represented.
