Kota Kinabalu: Sabah’s west coast, particularly Kota Kinabalu, may see a spike in the number of Covid-19 cases due to the emergence of test results from the Kepayan Prison cluster involving inmates and prison staff.

State Local Government and Housing Minister Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun (pic), who is also the State’s official Covid-19 spokesperson, assured that the Sabah Health Department is giving full focus on the cluster and that tests are actively being carried out not only on inmates but also prison staff.

He said there are about 2,700 inmates in the Kepayan Prison, which has been placed under the Enhanced Movement Control Order (Emco) from Tuesday (Oct 20) until Nov 2.
