Inter Milan coach Antonio Conte was happy with their 1-1 draw against Lazio.

Lautaro Martinez had Inter ahead before an equaliser scored by Sergej Milinkovic-Savic in the second-half. Ciro Immobile saw red for Lazio.

“We conceded the equalizer in out best moment," Conte told DAZN. “We were dominating the game but Lazio managed to fight back and score with a trademark goal. We reacted, we tried to create more goal chances and we hit the post with Brozovic.

“I am satisfied with the team's performance today.

“I used to be a footballer and I know my players gave it all, they are the first ones to be disappointed for the draw. Don't forget we lost to Lazio last season and that win helped them gain self-confidence. This time it was different."

Conte had praise also for Ivan Perisic and Nicolò Barella: “I am very happy with Ivan, he is a player who can be very dangerous up front and he proved it today with an assist. Of course, he has to improve his defensive phase, just like [Achraf] Hakimi does. Ivan is surprising me in a positive way. These help him gain experience in a new position.

“Barella played a very good game, he had already played behind the striker at Cagliari and he can give the team more balance when he plays there. I am trying to get my midfielders used to play in every position in the middle. We have a tough season ahead of us."
