Stoke City goalkeeper Jack Butland continues to be linked with Liverpool.

Butland last featured for Stoke in July in a 5-0 hammering against Leeds United. He lost his first-team place to Wales international Adam Davies and is desperate for a move to rekindle his career, says the Mirror.

With just 12 months of his contract to go and being one of the club's highest-paid players it appears to suit both parties for Butland to end his seven year stay in the Potteries.

A move is still on the cards with the domestic transfer window open until Friday, permitting deals between Premier League and EFL clubs.

That has led to negotiations between Liverpool and Stoke with manager Jurgen Klopp missing the injured Alisson for six weeks and worries over back-up keeper Adrian, who leaked SEVEN goals against Aston Villa.

It means that Butland could be involved against Everton in Saturday's Merseyside derby at Goodison Park.

The 6ft 5in rising star was valued at £30m when clubs looked to take advantage of Stoke's relegation from the Premier League.
