Manchester United will activate Dayot Upamecano's release clause next summer, according to reports.

The RB Leipzig defender has been a target for United for some time, having been given a tour of the club in 2015.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has confirmed that he is looking forward to watching Upamecano in the flesh when United play Leipzig in the Champions League on Wednesday night.

It could be the final audition for a summer transfer, with The Times claiming United are ready to activate the £38m release clause in the 24-year-old's contract.

Upamecano, 24, signed a new contract with Leipzig this past summer which lasts until 2023.

But the new deal decreased the Frenchman's release clause by £7m

Upamecano has featured 120 times for Leipzig since he joined from Red Bull Salzburg in January 2017.
