Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker says the power of prayer helped him return from injury quicker than expected.
Alisson damaged shoulder ligaments in a training ground accident, and was told he would miss six weeks - which was a huge blow, compounded by injury to Virgil van Dijk.
But as he prepares for a Champions League clash with Midtjylland a month ahead of schedule, he explained how he beat the odds to come back early:
“As soon as the doctor said it was four to six weeks, I said no doc we go two to three maximum, and he agrees with me and we go for it."
And he says his Christian faith played a big role.
“How did I do it? I pray a lot. Seriously, I pray a lot. I believe my faith and working hard helped me in this fast recovery," he added.
“I also did a lot of sessions of treatment. I was every day for five or six hours at the club doing sessions with the physios, and I worked hard to be ready."
