Chelsea have made enquiries after Inter Milan striker Lautaro Martinez.
TMW says Chelsea made an approach to Lautaro's minders about a move to London before the market shut last week.
However, the Argentina international rejected the enquiry, insisting if he was to leave Inter it would be for Spain.
Lautaro has been a long-term target for Barcelona, while Real Madrid was also linked during the final weeks of the last transfer window.
This season, the striker has scored three goals and made one assist in three matches of the Italian championship.
