Man attempts to kill ex-wife and son

KOTA MARUDU: Enraged after failing to persuade his ex-wife to reconcile, a man attempted to kill her and their six-year-old son using a bakakuk (home-made shotgun) at a rubber and oil palm plantation in Kg Kerongkom Laut, here, on Sunday.

District Police Chief Supt Mohd Izaan Abdullah said the son sustained gunshot wounds on his back and hip in the 2pm incident.

He said a bakakuk, an empty bullet and two live bullets were seized from the 58-year-old suspect who was arrested on the same day.
