Kota Kinabalu: Dato' Seri Anwar Ibrahim said he had the backing of more than 120 MPs to form a new government and had presented documentation to the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Malaysiakini reported. The opposition leader said he had submitted statutory declarations and confirmations from party leaders to that effect. Several political party leaders were reportedly summoned to Istana Negara following Anwar's audience with the Agong this morning.

Malaysiakini said it confirmed that MIC president SA Vigneswaran and DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng had received their invitations to meet the Agong.
