As an introductory promo, Huawei is offering freebies worth RM138. From the image, the freebies appear to be a protective case for the FreeBuds Pro and a mini Bluetooth speaker. If you’ve signed up for Huawei’s newsletter before 30th September, you can get a RM100 discount with the provided promo code.

Hardware Specs

The FreeBuds Pro looks heavily inspired by Apple’s AirPods Pro but it comes with a squarish stem. The new headphones boasts an intelligent dynamic ANC which can switch its noise cancellation mode depending on your ambient situation. For clearer voice calls, it utilises 3 microphones and a bone voice sensor to reduce unwanted background noise.

Unlike the previous Huawei FreeBuds 3, the FreeBuds Pro uses an in-ear design that comes with interchangeable tips. To control your music playback including volume control, the stems support press, swipe and pinch gestures.

On a full charge, the FreeBuds Pro boasts up to 7 hours of music playback and up to 30 hours of total playback with the case. With ANC turned on, it pushes 4.5 hours of music playback per charge or up to 20 hours with additional charges from the case.

The case itself supports wireless charging and it also supports wired charging via USB-C. For extra convenience, there’s also instant pairing when you pop-up the case near your Huawei smartphone. If you have multiple devices, it supports dual device connection and seamless switching when you pinch either earbud.

The FreeBuds Pro in Malaysia is significantly cheaper than Europe’s pricing (EUR 199 – about RM971) and it has the same price tag as the Galaxy Buds Live. As a comparison, the AirPods Pro is still retailing for RM1,099 and it also boasts 4.5 hours of music playback on a single charge but you’ll get a maximum of 24 hours of listening time with the case included.
