Kota Kinabalu: Frontliners at Queen Elizabeth II Hospital's intensive care unit (ICU) ward are struggling to cope after more than half the nurses have been forced into quarantine, Malaysia Kini reported. The news site said it learnt that 40 of the 66 nurses at the ICU ward had been been placed under quarantine after at least one staff member tested positive for Covid-19. Health Minister Adham Baba, when contacted, confirmed to Malaysia Kini that at least one nurse at the ICU ward was infected with Covid-19 on October 8.

The concerned staff member was believed to have contracted the virus from the community before coming to work.
