Free screening for S’kan folks

SANDAKAN: The first day of the free Covid-19 testing for residents of Taman Mawar went smoothly at Nurur Rahman Mosque, here, Wednesday. 

It was jointly held by the mosque management, health panel and residential committee.

The exercise aimed to get 250 people tested in the three-day period, especially those with symptoms and are elderly.

Sandakan Health Office’s Family Physician, Dr Zafferina Zulghaffar, said the free testing is part of the effort to contain the Covid-19 transmission and urged the residents not to worry about going for the test. 

After the screening, they are also advised to do self-quarantine at home while waiting for the test result, which if turns out negative they can carry on with their usual activities according to the standard operating procedure (SOP).
