Barcelona presidential candidate Victor Font supports the move for Manchester City defender Eric Garcia.
Off contract in June, Garcia is wanted back at his former club - and is still leaning towards agreeing to the move.
For his part, Font says he won't interfere in the deal as it has his full support.
He explained: "I know that Eric García feels the colours of the club and is delighted to return to Barça. In addition, he is a central defender.
"It is a strategic recruitment."
