Thomas Partey says he was convinced to join Arsenal after speaking with Mikel Arteta and Edu.
The Ghana international is arguably Arsenal's biggest signing after arriving from Atletico Madrid fo £45m.
And Partey revealed Arteta and Edu were able to sell him on their future vision.
"It's a great challenge," said Partey, who spent eight years with Atleti.
"I want to experience new challenges. I'm ready to give it my all and help this club.
"They [manager Mikel Arteta and technical director Edu] told me about their plans and it was so exciting so I had to accept it. I feel great to be here."
The 27-year-old added that he couldn't sleep the night before signing for the Gunners.
"Well, until the last moment I was not aware," Partey added. "My agent called me and said it was going to happen, and I was so happy. I could not even sleep that night - it was a great feeling.
"I was so happy, I was excited. I was not even here yet and [the fans] were crazy over me, they wanted me to join the club. I received a lot of messages saying, 'Join the club or we are not sleeping!' - it was a great feeling."
