Call to appoint Yong Mayor of Greater KK

Kota Kinabalu: Some members of the business community here want former Chief Minister Datuk Yong Teck Lee (pic), now a Nominated Assemblyman, to be appointed as Mayor of Greater Kota Kinabalu encompassing Penampang and Putatan townships.

They said it’s more than just disappointment of not having a Sabahan Chinese Minister in the State Cabinet.

“Assertive and visible leadership on the ground is needed at this extraordinary time in the greater city, as business and social activities are affected by the Covid-19 pandemic, to boost confidence and morale of the people.
