Kota Kinabalu: The case of a foreign man charged with assaulting a man two months ago has been adjourned to Dec 15.Mullyr Pulalon was scheduled for mention in a Magistrate’s Court here Monday for a medical report. However, his case has been rescheduled due to the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) which has been extended until Dec 6.

Mullyr had on Oct 7 pleaded guilty to causing hurt to one Salleh Naim at 7pm on Sept 19 this year at a cobbler stall in Sinsuran night market. He was charged under Section 323 of the Penal Code which carries a jail term of up to one year or a fine of up to RM2,000 or both, on conviction. The court then set Nov 16 for mention of Mullyr’s case following an application by the prosecution for the facts and sentencing be deferred pending the alleged victim’s medical report. Mullyr was ordered to be remanded further as he has no valid document.

Meanwhile, the case of four people charged with committing drug-related offences was also postponed to another mention date. Two of them were charged with taking syabu as framed under Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952, which provides for a fine of up to RM5,000 or up to two years’ jail, on conviction. While the other two were charged with having syabu as framed under Section 12 (2) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952, which provides for a fine of up to RM100,000 or up to five years’ jail or both, on conviction. One of the accused’s chemist reports was ready and has been fixed for hearing on Nov 24.
