Here we go again?

Lembaga Urus Air Selangor (LUAS) informed in a Facebook post today (10 November) that a water treatment plan (LRA) at Rantau Panjang, Sungai Selangor Phase (SSP) 1,2 and 3 have stopped operating at 12.20-12.45pm today.

This is due to solvent-like odour pollution detected at Sungai Selangor.

The odour was detected around the 8 Tonne mark at LRA Rantau Panjang. Based on observation made by LUAS authorities, the last reading recorded was still at 0 tonnes meaning the pollution hasn’t reduced in any way at all. LUAS, AIR Selangor and the parties involved are conducting investigations and immediate mitigation actions. Any developments will be informed from time to time.

Netizens are urging authorities to update if there will be a water cut so that they can start preparing from now. Not only are Selangorians currently facing a Conditional Movement Control Order but also some Malaysians will be celebrating Deepavali this Saturday (14 November).

Stay tuned for more updates!
