Over 15,000 SMEs benefit from Ministry’s aid: Joachim

THE Sabah Industrial Development Ministry has thus far channelled financial assistance to 15,130 small and medium enterprises (SMEs) affected by Covid-19 Statewide, said its Minister Datuk Dr Joachim Gunsalam (pic).

Joachim, who is also Deputy Chief Minister, said each entrepreneur received financial assistance of RM1,000, and those eligible to receive the assistance are micro-entrepreneurs and small-scale cottage industry with annual sales volume not exceeding RM50,000.

“The State Government takes the efforts to provide assistance to SMEs seriously as they are a very important sector in the State economy and contribute almost 98 per cent of the total business establishments in Sabah.
