Barcelona presidential candidate Victor Font insists Antoine Griezmann should never have been signed.
Barca splashed out €120m to sign Greizmann from Atletico Madrid last summer, but the France attacker has so far failed to live up to his price-tag.
Font reflected: "It is surprising with the talent he has.
"But it's a signing that we shouldn't have done because of the position he occupies.
"The adjustment is very complicated because he plays in the same role as (Lionel) Messi."
