Charlton chief admits they considered Arsenal striker John-Jules

Charlton Athletic were eager to sign Arsenal forward Tyreece John-Jules in the summer.

According to London News Online, the Addicks identified him as a top target.

But John-Jules is now on loan at League One side Doncaster Rovers.

Charlton's Director of Football, Steve Gallen, said: “The Arsenal lad, Tyreece John-Jules was someone we wanted to sign.

“But at that stage we had £1,300 [per week] to spend."
