Agong declares emergency in Batu Sapi, by-polls postponed

Kota Kinabalu: The Agong has declared an emergency in Batu Sapi, Sandakan, effectively cancelling a planned by-election there following the death of its Member of Parliament.

“With this proclamation, any proceedings for the Batu Sapi by-election will discontinue to prevent a fourth wave of Covid-19 and one new date will be fixed for the by-polls,” a statement from the National Palace said.
