Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta is weighing up when to introduce William Saliba to first team football.
Saliba played 77 minutes for Steve Bould's Under-23s during a 1-0 defeat to Liverpool on Friday night.
The Gunners are in the midst of an injury crisis at the heart of the defence and Arteta admitted there was a dose of regret about Saliba not being available in Europe.
That could mean that the 19-year-old could be part of the travelling party to face Manchester United at Old Trafford.
Arteta is prepared to be patient with Saliba, but with more minutes under his belt, the sheer volume of injuries could force his hand.
