Darnell Furlong insists West Brom are capable of staying up.
The Baggies, who won promotion back in July, have endured a tough start to life back in English football's top tier with Slaven Bilic's side winless in eight outings.
"I said when I came into this club that it needs to be where it belongs – in the Premier League," Furlong, 25, said.
"It's a massive privilege to be here and we've got a goal of staying in the league this year and it's one, I'm confident, we are going to achieve.
"The Premier League is a different kind of ruthless.
"You switch off for a second and someone has got away from you, or they are in-behind.
"And players don't tend to miss in the Premier League so it's a big step up but we are ready for it.
"I've always prided myself on working hard and doing the best I can.
"We don't just want to stay in the division. We want to play nice football and get as high as we can. We won't just settle for being here."
