Liverpool and Manchester United were interested in Marvin Park while he was at Tranmere Rovers.

Spanish-born Park spent two years at Prenton Park before returning to his homeland for family reasons.

The 20-year-old has since gone on to become a valued prospect at Real Madrid.

"His development was unreal," Tranmere academy coach Neil Garnett told the BBC.

"There was interest from Liverpool, Everton, Wigan, Blackburn and Manchester United.

"If he had stayed in England, the big clubs would have come and got him."
