Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane was delighted with their 3-2 triumph over Champions League opponents Inter Milan.

Real were 2-0 ahead before being pegged back to 2-2 by Lautaro Martinez and Ivan Perisic, but Rodrygo pounced on a defensive error for the winning goal.

“We won a difficult match against an Inter side that scored two goals. It's a Champions League level fixture, it was tough, but at the end of the day we found the third goal that is worth three points," Zidane told Sky Sport Italia.

“It was a final for us and for them too, so I am happy with the result and the three very important points.

"It's still very difficult for us in this group, we have to go to Italy next and it's going to be another real battle. It was important for us to get the three points today, so I'm happy for the players, who put in a lot of effort against a good team."
