Standard Chartered Bank has announced that it will be converting another four of its bank branches into Electronic Banking Centres in a bid to provide a better banking experience for its customers via technology. This round of digital transformation exercise involves the Damansara Utama, Publika, Kota Damansara, and Johor Bahru branches, effective 4 January next year.
According to the bank, customers will be able to access its self-banking channels and machines at these centres, including cash and cheque deposit via cash/deposit machines, cash withdrawal, and MEPS interbank fund transfer via ATMs. On top of that, Standard Chartered will also prepare iPads or laptops to further enable easy self-banking services for its customers.

The bank also clarified that its sales and service activities will remain unchanged at these centres. Branch sales, services managers, and service ambassadors will still be available to assist customers with selected services:
- Deposit account opening and debit card issuance
- Wealth investment/bancassurance (including takaful) matters
- Application for loans and financing
- Service requests, such as changes in address, contact number, and so on
However, various over-the-counter (OTC) services will cease to be offered at these centres following the transformation, although Standard Chartered also offered various digital service options that can substitute these OTC services. Alternatively, customers can visit other nearby branches for assistance. Here’s a full list provided by the bank for your reference:

Standard Chartered further stated that customers can continue to access its online, mobile, and phone banking channels to perform activities such as bill payments, interbank fund transfers, and remittance. It also reassured that there will be no changes to any account details and personal information of its customers.
These four branches are some of the latest to be converted into Electronic Banking Centres. It will join Standard Chartered’s growing list of Electronic Banking Centres, including those in Kajang, Kepong, and Puchong.
