Child rescued

NIBONG TEBAL: A 16-month-old was trapped inside a locked car for half an hour in Taman Widuri, Sungai Jawi, Friday.

Nibong Tebal Fire and Rescue Department Operation officer Mohd Awis Kharni Abdul Rahman said firemen broke into the rear window panel to rescue the boy.

Mohd Awis Kharni said initial investigation revealed the mother had placed her son in the car when it automatically locked.

“The family was heading out when the mother had put her son inside the car before its doors auto-locked.

“It happened very fast, resulting in the child being trapped inside the vehicle. In a state of panic, the mother called for help.”
