Inter Milan coach Antonio Conte's response to those questioning his passion this season has drawn a fresh reaction.

Former Inter defender Andrea Orlando branded Conte "soft" before yesterday's draw with Atalanta.

Asked about the comments, Conte suggested his critics should go and enjoy a "glass of wine".

But local pundit Luigi Garlando, of Gazzetta dello Sport, responded this morning: "Dear Conte, I am among the critics who have found less fury in you and, consequently in the team, than in the past.

"Thank you for your thoughtful suggestion. I assure you that I drink with absolute moderation, but not taking the wine off the table, coach. It's good and does you good: antioxidant, fights cholesterol, slows aging. And then, you know: in vino veritas.

"In fact, even yesterday at his Inter (one win in 8 games) there was no fury to close a game you had in your hand and to break Atalanta's dribble which led to a draw.

"'If we hold the ball, the opponent is not scary,' recalled Liedholm who produced excellent grignolino.

"Drink it, without excess. It restores good humour and passion.

"Enjoy, mister".
