Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has explained going with Diogo Jota ahead of Roberto Firmino for their Champions League win at Atalanta.
Jota scored a quite magnificent Champions League hattrick against Atalanta, to give Liverpool complete control of their group, and his manager was purring afterwards.
“For tonight it made sense to use the good shape Diogo was in, and it was clear the way Atalanta play, the skill set of Diogo helps," said Klopp.
"He used his shape in an incredible way and played a super, super game.
“But I don't think any system could have defended us tonight. Sadio, Mo and Diogo the way they play, and the support they got from the others.
"It wasn't about the system, it was about the way we play. Outstanding."
