Racing Murcia's swoop for Joleon Lescott is part of an ambitious overhaul of the club by president Morris Pagniello.
Murcia have announced the signing of former England defender Lescott after coaxing him out of retirement.
The ex-Manchester City and Aston Villa stopper's presentation will be in "a couple of weeks", announced Murcia.
Lescott will join a club already boasting Mathias Pogba in attack. Pogba is the older brother of Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba and currently also a pundit on El Chiringuito.
Pagniello has also confirmed trying to sign Samuel Eto'o this season and attempting to host their Copa del Rey tie against Levante in the UAE.
"We have several investors in Mexico and the UAE who can financially back this operation," he's stated.
