Saint Etienne coach Claude Puel is ready to try again for Leicester City striker Islam Slimani.
L'Equipe says Puel tried to sign the Algeria international over the summer and hopes for better luck in January.
After spending last season on-loan with AS Monaco, Slimani is currently at Leicester, though has managed just 19 minutes of action so far.
Foxes boss Brendan Rodgers has spoken of highly he regards Slimani, but is yet to hand him a start.
ASSE hope to take the centre-forward on-loan for the second-half of the campaign.
