Manchester City goalkeeper Ederson is expected to start for Brazil against Venezuela on Friday, ahead of Liverpool counterpart Alisson.
Ederson sat on the bench for Brazil's last two qualifiers against Bolivia and Peru.
Alisson returns to the squad after recovering from a shoulder injury, but it is Ederson who will face Venezuela and Uruguay.
"Ederson is the starting goalkeeper," he told Brazilian outlet UOL. "Weverton had a good sequence, two great games, but I spoke with all three.
"Alisson is an excellent goalkeeper, Ederson is going through a great technical and physical period.
"It is an important moment for the game against Venezuela, and Ederson will be the starting goalkeeper."
