The man who discovered Bruno Fernandes has revealed why the Portugal playmaker has settled so quickly at Manchester United.
The 26-year-old has already become one of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's most trusted players since joining from Sporting Lisbon in January this year.
Fernandes got his break in Italy with Italian club Novara, with Mauro Borghetti discovering him playing for Boavista.
And Borghetti told Football Italia about Fernandes: "Above all, he had a great personality which is what distinguishes him now that he is playing football at top levels."
Borghetti also admitted that he was surprised to see Fernandes reach the heights he has.
He added: "He has always raised the level in his career. Sincerely, what Bruno Fernandes has become today is a bit of a surprise to me.
"We understood that he was not a common footballer but here we are talking about one who plays in one of the most famous clubs in the world with results out of any kind of logic.
"He had the potential to do it, but to see what he's become today is a bit of a surprise."
