Everton star James Rodriguez admits he could have joined Manchester United in the past.
The Colombian was the headline signing for Carlo Ancelotti's team this summer, arriving from Real Madrid.
But Rodriguez could have been in United's red shirt eight years ago, had he moved in 2012.
"I believe it was in 2012," Rodriguez said of United's interest in an interview with BT Sport.
"The club [Man Utd] had offered me something, but in the end that didn't happen because of some reason I don't know.
"But well - football always leads you to the correct path, to a team where you can actually play well."
