Liverpool should sign Burnley defender James Tarkowski to replace Virgil van Dijk, former Reds keeper Chris Kirkland has claimed.
Van Dijk is expected to miss the entire season with an ACL injury.
It is unclear whether Liverpool will sign a replacement in January.
But if they do, Kirkland believes Tarkowski would make for a quality home-grown addition to the reigning champions.
He told FootballFanCast: "Obviously there was a lot of talk about Tarkowski at Burnley. I like him, I think he's decent.
"You can't go, 'well will he do what Van Dijk does?' Because that's impossible, nobody does that."
