Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho remains interested in Inter Milan defender Milan Skriniar.
Spurs made major enquiries for Skriniar over the summer, though a deal couldn't be struck.
ESPN says they remain keen, but face competition from Liverpool, where manager Jurgen Klopp is eager to find a new centre-half signing after losing Virgil van Dijk for the season due to knee surgery.
Skriniar, 25, has a contract to 2023 and has insisted he is happy in Milan.
However, that won't put off Spurs and Liverpool, which have the spending power to convince Inter to come to the table and consider a sale.
