JCI Sandakan wins three awards

SANDAKAN: In the 45th JCI Malaysia Virtual Convention in 2020, Junior Chamber International (JCI) Sandakan is one of the Local Organisations to be awarded 100pc Most Efficient Local Organisation from JCI Malaysia for the year 2020. 

JCI Sandakan was also rated three stars from the Star Rating Award for 2020, breaking the record of one star from 2019. 

A new member of the organisation, Jacky Sak Sai Yung, won the honour of “Most Active Member” (the second half of the year).

Jacky joined JCI Sandakan in 2019 and took up the challenge to become 2020 Honorary Treasurer.

Since then, he has been actively involved in JCI, organising and taking up roles in projects and activities. 

He said young people should stay away from the comfortable zone but instead should actively participate in social activities, contribute to the society and make positive change.

Immediate past president of JCI Sandakan, Michael Chang was elected as 2021 JCI Malaysia National Vice President. 

Chang also feels that JCI is a good platform to serve the community. He joined JCI since 2016, served as the local president in 2019 and JCI Malaysia Area Sabah Treasurer in 2020. 

JCI is a non-profit organisation for young active citizens between 18 and 40 who are engaged and committed to creating impact in their respective communities.
