Sheffield United boss Chris Wilder has explained holding back Oliver Burke.

Burke has not featured in three of the last four games and the Blades boss has cleared up the issue surrounding his omission.

"It was tactical (yesterday at Chelsea)," he told Yorkshire Live.

"Oli McBurnie would have played but it's unfortunate that he had tonsillitis, which kept him away for four days.

"There was not much grass in behind Chelsea's back four when they go 2-1 up, they sit a little bit deeper so pace is not needed something else is needed to try and get back in to the game.

"Even though there is a lot of opinion from a lot of us at the moment, in my opinion Oli (McBurnie) has done well against Liverpool and did well against Man City and, obviously we wouldn't be dominating possession even if we were playing out of our skin.

"The service to the boys at the top of the pitch is not great, the control of the game that we have is not great because we are turning the ball over really cheaply.

"Oli Burke has a part to play for certain games.

"It was like that last year with Mousset, Didzy, the skipper and Oli Mac and it will be that way right the way through unless someone finds a big period of goals or form."
