Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos faces over a week out of action with a hamstring strain.
The defender was injured for Spain in their 6-0 win over Germany.
Ramos will miss two games at least, against Villarreal and Inter Milan, and potentially another against Alaves.
The veteran's absence will be covered by Eder Militao who is available again for the weekend game with Villarreal.
