The Covid19 pandemic has hit the world by storm - no one, including those involved in sports, were spared from this. This unexpected and unprecedented event will be a life-changer for everyone.

Not only will it affect our daily lives, but the norms of what we were accustomed to including the manner which we once enjoyed the beautiful game of football.

Everyone- fans, officials, players, coaches and support staff will be at risk once the movement control order (aka MCO or its equivalent in other countries) is lifted and sports resumes again.

Thus, during his lockdown period, clubs, football associations, sports ministries and fans best start preparing for the upcoming changes. This has to be taken seriously and implemented at bet capacity so that we do not risk wasting more time to complete the remainder of the season/matches.

The recommendations given in this document will require a large part of cooperation from FIFA and regional footballing bodies to help support clubs in terms of personnel as well as infrastructure.

Coordination might include with either local health authorities or at best with the World Health Organisation (WHO) for easier implementation and compliance.

I have taken the liberty to go through events experienced in the past as a fan and from what football coaches/staff/officials undergo- any shortcomings or events I might have missed is deeply regretted- please feel free to email me at [email protected] so that I will be able to include the event and possible suggestions for improvement for the post-Covid 19 era.

The suggestions given here are of a personal view and with some experience in handling the Covid 19 situation and being actively involved in the data analysis.
