Awang Aslee is new Sabah Umno executive secretary

Kota Kinabalu: Beaufort UMNO acting chief Awang Aslee Lakat has been appointed the party’s state executive secretary, effective Nov 1. 

The former Sabah UMNO assistant secretary replaced Datuk Kadzim M.Yahya, who was appointed Sabah State Assembly Speaker last October.

The letter of appointment was handed over to Awang Aslee by the State UMNO secretary Datuk Jafry Arifin, who is also Sabah Tourism, Culture and Environment Minister, in a brief ceremony at Jafry’s office here, yesterday.

Awang Aslee regarded the appointment as a big responsibility and promised to do his best to further strengthen Sabah UMNO.

“The responsibility entrusted upon me  is not something that is easy to be executed without the co-operation of all Sabah UMNO leaders, including from the Women, Youth and Puteri wings, at all divisions,” he said.

He thanked Sabah UMNO Liaison Committee chairman Datuk Seri Bung Mokhtar Radin and other party leaders in the state for the trust in him.
