Inter Milan coach Antonio Conte insists they deserved victory at Hellas Verona on Wednesday night.

Lautaro Martinez and Milan Skriniar struck the goals for the visitors.

“We won against a strong team, praise to [Ivan] Juric for what he's being doing. Today we showed we wanted to win at all costs," Conte told Sky Italia.

“We'll need to fight to win. That's the history of this club, but only one team wins.

“It's important to stay up there, this was our seventh win in a row in Serie A.

“We need to continue like this, but the season is difficult, even more than the last one. You can lose points against anyone. We need to remain focused all the times. Today we proved we wanted to win, we showed great determination.

“It's fair not to give [Romelu] Lukaku too many responsibilities, everyone has. Today he was important and I am happy for Lautaro because when strikers don't score for long time, they become nervous, but he played a good game today.

“Now we can rest a little bit. We didn't have holidays in the summer."
