Sheffield United owner Prince Abdullah says they'll be working the loan market in January.

Prince Abdullah also defended their salary structure.

Speaking to BBC Radio Sheffield, he said: "What we will do is get two loans, one of them with an option to buy if we stay in the Premier League.

"There is a risk we will get relegated, so we have to take that into consideration.

"We are always in contact with Chris (Wilder, manager). I met with him on Friday. We discussed the team, January window and other things. It was a normal discussion and we had a very good talk.

"If you look at what we have done in the last 18 months, not many teams have a net spend of £120m. I think you will have a difficult time naming five teams.

"We are happy with the players we have bought. If you look at the average age they are young and will be the core of the team for a long time.

"I am sure we have made the right investment for the long term.

"Having said that we are still looking to support the team in January to help the team.

"I read reports that our average salary for players is around £20,000-a-week. This is ridiculous, we are paying good salaries for our players and they deserve it.

"We have a good team and we believe in Chris. Call me naive or in a state of denial but I am optimistic. If we get relegated we have the team to bounce back.

"I hope the fans will be back supporting them. I don't think you can see any players not giving 100%. It's just the results have not been coming our way."
