Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp admits he's delighted with the way his young players have stepped up this season.

The Reds have suffered a major injury crisis with a host of first team regulars missing over the first few months of the season.

Ahead of Wednesday's clash with Midtjylland, where Klopp is expected to turn to the starlets again having already qualified for the Champions League knockout stages, he gave special praise to his inexperienced players.

He said: "I know we don't have to say it any different, we had some problems injury wise. We lost some top top players to injures. But it's one door closed and another opens up.

"But you need the right players, kids to come in. What Neco WIlliams did in the Champions League so far was exceptional, Phillips in Premier League, sensational.

"Neco played really well. Curtis (Jones) played like he has for 10 years for us. Without them we would have been lost without these boys. Thank god it worked out. The biggest part is that they are ready for it."
