Manchester City have jumped into the battle for wantaway Bayern Munich defender David Alaba.
Off contract in June, Alaba is ready to leave Bayern after the board withdrew their final offer to the Austria international.
Real Madrid and Liverpool are regarded as contenders for Alaba's signature in England.
But Fussball Transfers says City are also keen, where the defender would be reunited with his former Bayern coach Pep Guardiola.
A key in negotiations could be Guardiola's willingness to play Alaba in midfield long-term - a role the 27 year-old covets.
